Millions of dollars in crypto assets are lost every year because users misplace, leak, or destroy their 12-word paper seed phrases. PQCSmartAccount replaces seed phrases with modern WebAuthn passkeys anchored in smartphone hardware secure enclaves, combined with decentralized social recovery.
If a user loses their phone, they initiate social recovery through designated guardians (e.g., 3 of 5 pre-selected family members, hardware tokens, or recovery services). The smart contract enforces a 48-hour timelock delay during which the original owner can cancel the recovery attempt, protecting against social engineering attacks.
