Core engineering and protocols for ERC-4337 Post-Quantum Migration.
On Ethereum, traditional wallets (like standard MetaMask accounts) are Externally Owned Accounts (EOAs). Their signature validation logic is hardcoded into the Ethereum consensus engine using secp256k1 ECDSA. Upgrading an EOA to use post-quantum cryptography would require a contentious protocol-wide hard fork that rewrites transaction formats across the entire network.
ERC-4337 achieves account abstraction entirely at the application layer without core protocol modifications. Users sign UserOperation payloads validated by smart contract code. PQCSmartAccount implements custom validation modules executing FIPS 204 ML-DSA or FIPS 205 SLH-DSA, granting users immediate quantum immunity on existing production blockchains.
